Quarry Residue: Treatment of Industrial Effluent Containing Dye

This work is devoted to the investigation of discoloration synthetic and industrial effluent, using a quarry residue (MbP), which material naturally composed mixed oxides, compared zinc oxide (ZnO), acting as photocatalysts adsorbents. The optimization pH catalyst concentration parameters was carried out, effluent then treated by photocatalytic reactions, adsorption, photolysis. Industrial supplied packaging company collected for period seven consecutive days, showing oscillation in process. characterizations were obtained scanning electron microscopy (SEM-EDS), X-Ray diffraction (XRD), photoacoustic spectroscopy (PAS). results indicated that composition waste mainly silica has Egap 2.16 eV. photocatalyst active artificial (synthetic dye solution), with maximum 98% discoloration, an adsorbent 57% discoloration. Although shown lower than ZnO, it considered promising adsorption processes reactions aqueous solutions.
